The Blade: Nearly three inches in length, this hawkbill-styled blade is shaped like a claw for digging in and slashing cuts. Built from premium Bohler stainless steel, given an upper swedge grind and finished with a worn-in stonewashing. The 478 Aluminum has three ways in which it can be deployed for the user’s convenience. It can be flipped open as it has a small integrated flipper tab on the back. There is a thumb hole window great for a gloved hand. Finally, the Emerson patented Wave Opening Feature can be utilized by catching it on a pocket on the way out for instant deployment. Smooth function with bronze washers at the pivot.
The Handle: Constructed using full-length, skeletonized stainless steel liners with black as night anodized aluminum scales on top. The aluminum has a matte finish and primo placed grooves for a solid grip. The edges are contoured and the matte finish is soft, comfortable in hand. The backspacer extends past the end of the handle to form a solid finger ring ensuring a place for every finger with any grip.
