The Kersaw Parsec pairs a modern aesthetic with functional, everyday performance. The Parsec creates some of the stylistic elements of the eye-catching Decibel folder with the bronze-wash finish and flipper deployment of the Les George designed Boilermaker and blends them into a new, interesting and utilitarian everyday carry folder. A full stainless construction means the Parsec is low maintenance while the KVT ball bearing pivot delivers fast, smooth, ambidextrous deployment.
Brand new directly from Kershaw Knives.
Blade: The blade of the the Parsec is fully flat ground with a subtle drop point and tapering height that make it a great all-around cutting tool: pierce, slice and push-cut with ease. The blade is finished with a stonewashed brown PVD with a classy, discreet and rugged appearance. The blade rides on the KVT bearing pivot for fast smooth deployment via the jimped, low-profile integral flipper tab.
Handle: Constructed of solid stainless steel the handles feature the same tumbled brown PVD coating to match the blade. A large window cutout reduces weight while accenting the modern lines of the design overall. The backside of the handle features a stainless steel frame lock mechanism for sturdy and secure lock-up when you need it most. To complete the look, Kershaw added an oversize blue pivot and matching barrel spacers. The open back construction keeps the weight down while making maintenance a breeze.
Carries via a reversible (tip-up) stainless steel pocket clip.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
