Inspired by the classic Spanish Navaja and other traditional regional knives the Kershaw Strata delivers a large, slim, daily carry knife that is stylish, utilitarian and surprisingly easy to carry. An all steel frame lock offers secure use while the upgraded D2 tool steel blade provides extended cutting performance and fast access with KVT flipper deployment. This “XL” version of the Strata comes with a nearly 5.5 inch, blasted D2 tool steel blade, black G10 front scale and copper anodized aluminum details.

Blade: Bead blast, matte gray D2 steel delivers solid performance on this Navaja inspired clip point blade. With a thin stock and nearly full height grind the blade has balanced durability and cutting performance with a forward swedge for enhanced piercing. Equipped with a KVT bearing pivot flipper deployment is fast for reliable, one-hand access to the nearly 5.5 inch blade. Jimping on the spine offers added control for heavy or fine work.

Handle: Copper anodized barrel spacers join the stainless steel frame lock and black G10 front scale with matching copper anodized pivot cap in a rock solid construction that is surprisingly light for its size. Slim and sweeping in design, the handle is ergonomic for comfort during extend use while being streamlined in the pocket. The frame lock is smooth, reliable and easy to operate for safe use. A copper anodized inlay on the back serves as a stylish over travel stop.

D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. With a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) D2 offers greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels. With a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance D2 is a well-balanced, all around knife steel.
