Brand new, direct from Protech Knives, USA.
Blade:Â The modified Wharncliffe blade comes with a sub-3.5″ blade made from American CPM-20CV stainless steel equipped with a clean slicing plain edge. The acid washed and tumbled finish has a great look, is discreetly non-reflective and hides wear from use. The modified Wharncliffe profile delivers balanced slicing and durability with a high saber grind and gently sweeping belly tapering to a fine tip for piercing tasks and detail work. Riding on a ball bearing pivot, the blade deploys fast and smooth via the integral index flipper tab.
Handle:Â Made from solid titanium, the handles are 3D milled with a grooved texture for visual appeal and added traction and finished with a handsome and rugged distressed blue over bronze anodization. Subtle finger grooves give optimal comfort with enhanced ergonomics and a distal taper that locks the hand in behind the integral flipper tab guard. The inlaid button lock adds a custom touch and delivers smooth operation and solid lockup. Construction is completed with blasted matte gray hardware and a solid G10 back spacer.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up, satin stainless steel deep carry clip.
CPM-20CV: CPM-20CV (analog to Bohler M390 and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
